Stepping forward in his time of need, the ABG (Anvir Bashundhara Group) Foundation provided vital financial assistance to clear Shuvos’s dues, paving the way for him to participate in the upcoming secondary school examinations.
Hailing from Pajulia village in Gazipur, Shuvo comes from a struggling family. His father earns a meager living by purchasing milk from local dairy farms to sell in the market, supplemented by seasonal farm labor. Despite severe financial constraints, Shuvo has remained resilient. For the past four years, he has received a monthly educational stipend of BDT 1,000 from Bashundhara Shuvosangha, which has been crucial in keeping his studies afloat.
However, financial pressures escalated when Shuvo enrolled in coaching classes to better prepare for the SSC exams. While his stipend covered the monthly coaching fees, his family could not afford the accumulated school tuition, test fees, and registration costs.
When Shuvos’s predicament caught the attention of the ABG Foundation, the organization intervened to eliminate the threat of discontinuation. On Sunday, at Mofiz Uddin Khan High School in Chapulia, Gazipur, Kaler Kantho Staff Photojournalist Lutfor Rahman officially handed over the ABG Foundation grant to Shuvo, his mother Nasima Begum, and Headmistress Asma Akhter to settle all outstanding school and registration dues.
Expressing her gratitude, Headmistress Asma Akhter said, "Bashundhara Shuvosangha’s scholarships are helping meritorious and underprivileged students across the country overcome adversities to continue their education. The humanitarian initiative by the ABG Foundation is equally commendable and serves as a guiding light for nurturing talented youth."
Shuvo’s mother, Nasima Begum, offered heartfelt thanks to the ABG Foundation and Bashundhara Shuvosangha authorities for their timely intervention.
What began as an imminent end to a promising education has now been transformed into a renewed path toward hope and ambition, exemplifying how targeted corporate philanthropy can rescue dreams constrained by poverty.
