Dinesh Trivedi Meets Narendra Modi

India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting took place on Tuesday (August 11), with discussions reportedly focusing on Bangladesh-India bilateral relations, the current diplomatic climate, and various ongoing issues between the two nations.

Diplomatic sources indicate that High Commissioner Trivedi’s visit to New Delhi following his assumption of office in Dhaka is viewed as part of broader efforts to realign bilateral ties. His meeting with Prime Minister Modi comes amid initiatives to enhance high-level engagement following recent diplomatic discomfort between Dhaka and New Delhi.

Before his departure, High Commissioner Trivedi met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Dhaka on Monday (August 10) for the first time since assuming his post. That meeting emphasized advancing Bangladesh-India relations, strengthening mutual trust, and resolving unresolved matters through structured dialogue.

Following his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Indian High Commissioner departed Dhaka for New Delhi on Monday afternoon, leading to his subsequent meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
