Led by Syed Abdul Baten, National Manager of BCB’s Grounds and Facilities Management Department, the delegation expressed overall satisfaction with the infrastructure and venue facilities. Baten highlighted that this marks the first time the BCB is holding an international team's warm-up fixture at a privately owned venue, praising ABG Sports City's cooperation and high-standard logistics.
The upcoming fixture is being viewed by stakeholders as a trial case for conducting larger cricket events in the future. Baten noted that the facility already offers solid practice amenities, while construction is currently underway for an additional cricket ground within ABG Sports City to expand its overall hosting capacity.
ABG Sports City Director Md. Imrul Hasan described hosting the West Indies team as a historic achievement for the venue. He emphasized that while the management is gaining new experience in international match delivery, all preparations are progressing smoothly under direct guidance and recommendations from the BCB.
Anvir Cricket Stadium has previously hosted age-group cricket, domestic tournaments, and National Cricket League second-XI matches. The upcoming practice match will add its first international match-hosting experience, setting the stage to establish the venue as a permanent addition to the country's elite cricket ecosystem.
