Always known among her friend circle for her aesthetic sense and refined taste, Ramisa turned that very reputation into business inspiration. Initially, she curated and sold jewelry sourced from various suppliers. Over time, she began bringing her own design concepts to life by collaborating directly with artisans to craft unique pieces. Without formal training as a professional designer, she relied on her innate creativity to build a brand with a distinct identity.
"I’ve wanted to be an entrepreneur since childhood. A conventional 9-to-5 job never appealed to me," Ramisa shared. "I always dreamed of building an organization of my own—a place where I could not only stand on my own feet but also create employment opportunities for others. That desire to be self-reliant and support others was the driving force behind my entrepreneurial journey."
Although she took her first steps as an entrepreneur in 2020, the road was far from smooth. She experimented with various product lines, faced multiple setbacks, and incurred financial losses. Yet, she persevered. After five years of trial, learning, and hands-on experience, she successfully positioned "দেshe" as a thriving brand in 2025.
Reflecting on her journey, she said, "I failed many times along the way. I experimented a lot and suffered losses, but I never stopped. I firmly believed that if I kept trying, success would eventually follow. That faith in myself kept me moving forward."
Currently, "দেshe" offers a curated collection including Kashmiri bangles, Turkish rings, anti-tarnish rings, glass jhumkas, various types of traditional bangles, and contemporary fashion jewelry. The products are priced between BDT 350 and BDT 5,000.
The young entrepreneur remains uncompromising when it comes to product quality. Ramisa emphasized that her page offers 100% authentic and high-quality imported items. Even when replica products with similar designs flood the market, she maintains complete transparency with her customers regarding which items are locally sourced and which are imported. Furthermore, "দেshe" offers a hassle-free replacement policy within two days if any defect is found.
Recalling her first international order still brings a thrill to Ramisa. "My first overseas order came from neighboring Pakistan, and the customer was extremely warm," she recalled. "The global outreach really took off after one of our Instagram Reels went viral. I was presenting the traditional and popular 'Maula Mere Jhumka,' and that video caught the attention of international buyers. Since then, we have shipped orders to Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, the UK, the US, and Canada. My goal for the future is to expand our footprint into even more countries."
However, operating in the international market comes with its own set of challenges. Ramisa pointed out that international shipping processes remain quite complex and expensive for new entrepreneurs. She believes that if logistics and shipping facilities become smoother, faster, and more affordable, small-scale entrepreneurs in Bangladesh could establish a strong foothold in the global market much faster.
From a university student to the founder of a brand trusted by international buyers, Ramisa’s journey stands as proof that with patience, creativity, and self-belief, even a modest online initiative can make its mark on the global stage.
